Magnetic Bead Separations Systems For Bottles, Tubes, Vials, and
  Glass Slides

  1.5ml Tubes

VP 772F3

The VP 772F3 was designed as A magnetic separation stand for 1.5 ml Micro centrifuge tubes.  It can be used in assays using as little as  0.400 ml of sample or for as much as 1.5 ml.  The stand has A single 6.35 mm diameter  NdFeB magnet (52 MGO) positioned to capture magnetic beads even from samples as low as 0.40 ml.   These powerful magnets will capture the magnetic beads in 15 seconds.

Even 2 ml micro centrifuge tubes can be used in these stands.

The photo to the right illustrates a 1.5 ml sample of magnetic beads being captured by the magnet of the VP 772F3.  A piece of white paper is being held between the magnet stand and the micro centrifuge tube to more clearly reveal the magnetic beads.

VP 772F5

The VP 772F5 was designed as dual use magnetic separation stand for 1.5 ml Micro centrifuge tubes.  It can be used in assays using as little as  0.15 ml of sample or for as much as 1.5 ml.  The stand has two 6.35 mm diameter  NdFeB magnets (52 MGO) positioned to capture magnetic beads even from samples as low as 0.15 ml.  These powerful magnets will capture the magnetic beads in 15 seconds.

Even 2 ml micro centrifuge tubes can be used in these stands.

The photo to the right illustrates a 0.15 ml sample of magnetic beads being captured by the lower magnet of the VP 772F5.  A piece of white paper is being held between the magnet stand and the micro centrifuge tube to more clearly reveal the magnetic beads.

The photo to the right illustrates a 1.5 ml sample of magnetic beads being captured by both the lower and upper magnet of the VP 772F5.  A piece of white paper is being held between the magnet stand and the micro centrifuge tube to more clearly reveal the magnetic beads.

  50ml Tubes

VP 772F1M & VP 772F1R

This magnetic bead separation system for 50 ml conical test tubes consists of 2 parts.  The VP 772F1M is a magnetic base which set on a base with the same dimensions as a microplate (127.76mm by 85.48 mm) holds four 48 MGO NdFeB magnets that are 25.4 mm cubes.  The VP 772F1R is a rack holding eight 50 ml conical test tubes which can be manually or robotically placed over the magnetic base and the magnetic beads in the test tubes are rapidly separated by the large and power magnetic field generated by the VP 772F1M.

The photo on the right illustrates the two parts mated together and the photo below it illustrates how they perfectly fit together and hold the test tubes close to the magnets for rapid separation of the beads.  Note that we have machined slots in the tube rack so you can see the tubes and when the beads have been separated.

The key to our success is that we use very large magnets with high energy 48 MGO or higher.

The photo to right illustrates a tube with suspended  Magnasil beads (Promega) and the photo just below it was taken just 20 seconds later.   The same test performed on a similar Promega separation system using much thinner and weaker magnets required twice the time to separate the beads.

100 & 250 ml Bottle Magnetic Bead Separation System

VP 772F

The VP 772F is designed with two 42 MGO NdFeB magnets (51 x 51 x 79 mm) in an aluminum and polycarbonate frame to pellet Magnetic Beads to the sides of four 100 ml glass or 250 ml Nalgene bottles.  These large magnets provide a very large and powerful magnetic field that will separate the magnetic beads in

Dimensions and specifications for the VP 772F can be found on this page.

The key to our success is that we use very large magnets with high energy 48 MGO or higher.

250 & 500 ml Bottle Magnetic Bead Separation System

VP 772FA

This magnetic bead separation system for 250 & 500 ml bottles consists of a powerful 48 MGO NdFeB magnet that is a 25.4 mm cube.  The VP 772FA hold 1 bottle at a time and was designed for manual use.

The photo to right illustrates a bottle with suspended  Magnasil beads (Promega) and the photo just below it was taken just 30 seconds later.

The key to our success is that we use very large magnets with high energy 48 MGO or higher.

  Multi-Tube System:  1.5ml, 15ml, 50ml Tubes

VP 772F2M-1, VP 772F2R-1, VP 772F2R-2, VP 772F2R-3, VP 772F2M-1B

The Multi-Tube Magnetic Bead Separation System, seen in the photo on the right, is compatible with a variety of tubes.

The VP 772F2M-1 is a magnetic base with a 48 MGO Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) magnet which works with any of the tube racks.

Magnetic Bead Separator Tube Racks VP 772F2R-1, VP 772F2R-2, VP 772F2R-3 work with 1.5ml tubes (13mm OD), 15ml tubes (16.7mm OD), 50ml tubes (29mm OD) respectively.

The VP 772F2M-1B is a non-magnetic base to hold any of the tube racks.

The dimensions of the base follow the SBS microplate convention so it is ready to use on most robotic workstations as shown in the photo to the right.

The key benefit to this system is the high energy magnet- a V&P specialty!

Mix and match to suit your application!
