The VP 771-PR was designed to re-suspend magnetic
bead pellets in microplates after they had been pulled to
the sides or the bottom of the wells using our magnetic
separation blocks. Being able to re-suspend the beads in
the wells aids in the washing process. The VP 771-PR
is constructed to the same dimensions as a standard
microplate (127.76 mm long and 85.48 mm wide) and has 2 very
strong NdFeB (50 MGO) bars (3 mm x 12 mm x 75mm) at each
end. When a robot plate handler picks up the VP 771-PR and
moves it over the microplate, the beads are re-suspended in
the liquid with only 2 passes of the VP 771-PR. This
resuspension process is fast and easy and does not require
liding or de-liding of the plate. The
VP 771-PR can also be used manually.

The photo to the right show the bottom of the VP 771-PR. The VP 771-PR body is
made from polypropylene with a polycarbonate lid holding the magnetic bars in
place. The photo on the right also shows how close the cavity that holds the
bars is to the surface of the VP 771-PR.

The VP 771-PD was designed to disrupt magnetic bead
pellets in microplates after they had been pulled to the
sides or the bottom of the wells using our magnetic
separation blocks. Being able to break up the pelleted
beads in the wells aids in the washing process. The VP
771-PD is constructed with polypropylene and single very
strong NdFeB (50 MGO) bar (3 mm x 12 mm x 75mm). The design
is such that we can change the height of the magnet above
the deck. When a robot plate handler picks up a microplate
and moves it over the VP 771-PD the bead pellets are
disrupted with only 2 passes over the VP 771-PD. This
pellet disruption process is fast and easy and does not
require liding or de-liding of the plate.
